Do you have a small portable cornhole set? Or have you picked up a Frisbeer set yet? Maybe you already have your games and you just need to pick up a beer pong table or some beer pong balls. Please check out our new line of gear.

This game is one that you may have never heard of. It’s called FRISBEER. You throw the ultimate disc in between the sticks and try to knock over a can. There is a little more to it than that obviously so you can dig into the site to find out more!
Croquet Rules
by thedayofgames on Dec.17, 2009, under Products
INCLUDED IN YOUR CROQUET SET –
6 – Croquet Balls (6 colors)
6 – Mallets
9 – Wickets
2 – Can Coolers (koozie’s)
1 – Bottle Opener
BASICS –
Smack your croquet ball under the wickets in order and into the posts. Least amount of strokes possible.
AREA OF PLAY –
Croquet can be played anywhere – Park, Backyard, Alleyway; pretty much any open area. It is not recommended that you use this set indoors, but feel free to play wherever you like. Just stick to the “Basics” and only hit your croquet balls under the wickets and at the stakes. Do not swing the mallets at anything else or throw the balls at anything else. Beware of others while playing.
CROQUET LAYOUT–
The standard 9-wicket croquet layout is pictured to the right. However, you can place the 9 inner wickets in any locations you like. Boundaries need to be established, out of bounds balls go back on the boundary.
CROQUET RULES PER THE DAY OF GAMES –
There are various ways to play Croquet and many ways to keep score. This is the Day of Games way. The rules below describe games played one team vs. another team (or 1 person vs. 1 person, up 6 people (or teams) playing at once).
a) Determine who goes first, second, third, etc.
b) Player 1places first ball in between first stake and first wicket, then begins the game. Each player will start exactly the same way by placing the ball in between first stake and wicket and striking with mallet.
c) If the ball passes through both wickets, the player receives two bonus strokes. Generally, bonus strokes do not accumulate – only the last bonus strokes earned are allowed (the exception being the two wickets at the starting or turning stakes). Bonus strokes are awarded for going under a wicket, for striking a stake, or for hitting another ball (this is called roqueting and you get 2 extra strokes).
d) Roqueting – If a player roquets there are four options.
1) Take 2 bonus strokes from where the players ball lands.
2) Place the players ball a single mallet head’s length away from the ball hit and take 2 strokes.
3) Place ball next to the ball hit. Then hit own ball so that it moves both balls. Then take another shot.
4) Place own ball side by side with the struck ball. Then placing foot on own ball strike it so as to move the other ball without moving own. Then take another shot.
e) A player can only roquet once per turn unless the player goes through a wicket or hits the turning stake.
f) If another moves another player’s ball through a wicket or causes it to hit a stake, the wicket or stake is scored, but no bonus strokes are awarded.
First team to go through all wickets and hit the final stake – wins!
Tailgate Bottle Openers
by thedayofgames on Dec.16, 2009, under Products
The last bottle opener you will ever need to take tailgating. The Bocce Bottle Opener is an all-in-one masterpiece for Bocce Beer enthusiasts. This thing comes with 3 feet of tape measure so you can see who is closer to the Pallino, it opens bottles with ease, it’s a keychain, AND it includes a flashlight for those night-bocce sessions. The Day of Games includes this piece of sporting goods equipment with all bocce purchases.

For non-Bocce purchases, there is the standard bottle opener. Sleek silver design, this keychain bottle opener fits right in your pocket. Is this as cool as the sandal bottle opener, or ring bottle opener, or credit card bottle opener?… probably not. But The Day of Games bottle opener comes free with all gear purchases!

Rec-Leagues! and Happy Hours!
by thedayofgames on Dec.01, 2009, under "Dog Daze"
Are you in your 20’s or 30’s and looking for an alternative to the local kickball leagues? There is a new leisure sports league coming to town. Hang out, meet people, and enjoy some beers.
The DogDaze Sports Leagues offer tailgate games – stuff that everyone can play. Ever wanted to join a Cornhole League? Bocce League? Horseshoes League? Or just enjoy a rec-league that is a little mellower than your soccer league, basketball league, and softball league? DogDaze offers the best leisure sports around and then partners with bars to host drink specials. Play ALL the tailgate games, not just one. The games change each week so you’ll always have a great time with a new game. Join the rec-league solo or sign up with a team.
You can be competitive, relaxed, or just come chill and meet some good people.
7-week recreation leagues are coming to San Diego rec leagues, Los Angelesrec leagues, San Francisco rec leagues, Portland rec leagues, Seattle rec leagues, Dallas rec leagues, Miami rec leagues, Chicago rec leagues, Denver rec leagues, New York rec leagues, and many more cities.
Play at a park or beach for an hour or so.
Head to a nearby bar and enjoy some beers and cocktails.
Repeat for 7 weeks.

The Day of Games vs. The Beer Olympics
by thedayofgames on Aug.30, 2009, under Day of Games General
Throwing a Beer Olympics event vs. hosting a Day of Games – What’s better? and
Some extra stuff you’ll need to make your Beer Olympics a SUCCESS!:
Beer Olympics Events vs. Day of Games Events:
Beer Olympics Games - Beer Pong (Beirut), Quarters, Case Race, Flip Cup (Boat Race), Beer Tasting, Beer Die, Beer Chug, Obstacle Course, QB Challenge
Day of Games Events – EVERYTHING included at a Beer Olympics PLUS Sporting Events – Cornhole, Bocce, Horseshoes, Dodgeball, Ladder Golf, Washers, Egg Toss, Shotput, Long Jump, Disc Golf (Frisbee Golf), Home Run Derby, Over the Line, Volleyball, Prisoner, War, Ace, Poker, Darts, Limbo, Arm Wrestling, Feats of Strength, Hacky Sack, Campus Golf, Staring Contest, Bar Games, Eating contests, + Beer Pong and the rest of the drinking games.
Advantage – The Day of Games – While a Beer Olympics is great for getting wasted, a complete Day of Games is the only way to enjoy drinking, leisure sports, team events, and be competitve.
———————————————————–
Beer Olympics Costumes vs. Day of Games Uniforms:
Beer Olympics Costumes - Dress up like a country. Your team will all wear similar colors and corny stereotypes from whatever country you are. Example – If you are Italy… you eat Pizza all day and say things like “Mama Mia!”.
Day of Games Event – Wear an outfit determined by your team – can be anything. If you want to dress up like a county then dress up like a country. Or maybe you want to dress up like the cast from Saved By the Bell? Or characters from Scarface, or Super Troopers, or everyone wants to be animals, or WWF wrestlers from the 80’s… whatever! Anything goes.
Advantage – The Day of Games – The more options the better! Being restricted to dressing up like a country is no fun. Only one team gets to be USA and after that there are only a few other options that are enjoyable. At a DOG event you can decide on whatever uniform suits the team. Props and theme music encouraged.
———————————————————–
Beer Olympics Ideas vs. Day of Games Concept:
Beer Olympics Ideas - Organize your friends, find a house with plenty of space, trash the house, drink all day, get wasted, awards ceremony.
Day of Games Events – Invite your buddies, set up 2 major teams or have several teams, pick a place to house the drinking events, use backyard or nearby park for any leisure sports, drink all day, party all night, awards ceremony for winning team and the MVG.
Advantage – The Day of Games – Same idea as Beer Olympics but you do more than just drink.
———————————————————–
Beer Olympics Rules vs. Day of Games Format:
Beer Olympics Rules - Teams of 4-6 represent a country. Guys and girls must be on each team. Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals are handed out to the winners of each event. The total medals count will determine the winning country.
Day of Games Format - Teams compete not only in drinking games but also in various leisure sports games. Points are awarded for winning efforts on an individual and team basis. At the end of the day all scores are added and a winning person (MVG) and a winning team are determined. Trophy is awarded to winners.
Advantage – The Day of Games – Who wants to play the “Beer Pong Event” only once?? At the Day of Games you are not stuck to the format of playing each game just once. If you want to play the same game several times you can just keep playing and keep adding up the points for the winners. At a Beer Olympics you are one and done.
———————————————————————
Here’s the deal – If you are organizing a Beer Olympics, it’s time to take the next step. Graduate from Beer Olympics to The Day of Games. You still get to create awesome ridiculous-looking uniforms, beer is obviously still involved, but now you can also play games, leisure sports, and compete throughout the entire day. The Day of Games is here. Check out what you are missing out on…
Week 1 of DOG Daze – Leisure Sports League Los Angeles
by thedayofgames on Jun.26, 2009, under "Dog Daze"
Horseshoes, paddle ball (smashball), and the triple jump. Yes… the triple jump. Week 1 was a complete success. Team Kansas has jumped into the early lead, but there are several teams right on their heels. Next week is Limbo, Disc Golf (Frolf) and a little Beersbee. Anything can happen in this, the first ever, Leisure Sports League LA!
NING
by thedayofgames on Mar.25, 2009, under Day of Games General
Setting up The Network through NING seems to be working. Good format. Great tools for users. Kickapps vs. NING? Went with NING. Hope I made the right choice.
NING benefits – Users can set up their own Groups and Events. Users can post their own pictures and videos. It is even possible to keep all the posts private for their friends… and not to the entire Day of Games network.
